Tellurian Friends
Growing up, I always loved fashion dolls, much like other children. Although as I grew older, that love never faded. It followed me to my adulthood and inspired me to pursue this project. This is Wisteria, the prototype for my line:
Concept Illustration
Tellurian Friends revolves around a group of five friends, all with different magical abilities, Vulcan (fire), Aria (air), Wisteria (plants), Orion (water), and Amethyst (rock). Diversity was one of the main driving forces of my process.
The initial prototype for Wisteria was made from thrifted doll parts, customized to match my concept.
After viewing her in 3d, I realized I wanted to play more with her body shape and features, making them more distinctive.
Early Prototype
Wisteria was sculpted entirely by hand using a two part air dry clay. Her joints were made with carved wooden beads and she is strung with elastic band.
